The Story! The first picture shows the dashboard the way it was when I purchased it. The next two pictures show the first digital LED board and switch panel I built. Unfortunately, in my efforts to angle it toward the driver and just generally not paying attention to how big it was getting, the dash encroached into the cockpit so much that only the specially bent stock shift lever would work. Since I wanted to use an after market shifter with a notchier feel and shorter throw, in July of 2009 I decided to build a new dash which encroached less at the bottom. Whereas the first one protruded more than four (4) inches from the original dash, the new one only protruded about one and three-quarters inches (1.75) at the bottom. I did extend the top to aid in seeing the panel in bright sunlight. The last three pictures show the new dash. You may notice that the horn and turn signal switches are on the panel. The turn indicater that came in the car was a universal non-cancelling one, which I tended to kick when I climbed into the car. I like a clean & simple steering column and got used to the having those switches on the panel in my BAHA bug, so I put them on the dash panel again. I'm sorry the glare obscures how nice it really looks.
